The registry

Worship Song Library — a transparent record of who wrote what.

A public registry where every song is documented with clear ownership, AI authorship disclosure via AIDcode, and church-use authorization status. Worship pastors can filter by Free To Use and never worry about licensing again.

What you'll find

Everything a worship pastor needs to make a confident choice.

Every registered song carries the full picture — the people, the ownership, the AI involvement, the usage rights. Open for anyone to view; no login required to read.

Who wrote it

Named credits for every human contributor. Writer profiles link to how supporters can give to writers directly.

Who owns the copyright

Current publisher and copyright holder, plus the ownership history. What corporations benefit is visible.

AI involvement (if any)

AIDcode disclosure identifies which portions are human-authored and which involved AI assistance. Defensible for copyright.

Church-use status

Free To Use badge for songs with a valid blanket church license (Song Stewardship Agreement or WorshipCommons equivalent).

Filter, sort, and browse

Filter by usage rights, AI involvement, theme, tempo, key, and more. Find songs suitable for your congregation.

Historical changelog

Every submission and modification carries the credential of the person who made it — active or former.

Two paths to Free To Use

Deep stewardship, or basic freedom to sing.

A song can earn the Free To Use badge through either of two paths. Both grant churches the freedom to sing without licensing fees.

Song Stewardship Agreement

The primary path. Grants the deepest church-use protection and long-term accountability. Songs registered under this agreement can be permanently held by the Song Stewardship Nonprofit if they reach significance thresholds — never sold to secular parties.

Best for: writers who want maximum protection for their songs and are willing to enter the stewardship relationship.

WorshipCommons (or equivalent)

Basic path. Grants churches the fundamental freedom to sing, without the additional stewardship layer. Writers retain immediate commercial rights.

Best for: writers who want their songs freely available for church use but prefer to hold their own long-term rights.

A note on where we are

Some of what's described here is already live; other pieces are in beta or in active development. This site communicates the vision — the working pieces link out to the platforms where they actually exist.
